The Museum’s collection has over one thousand objects, marionettes and manipulable puppets of every kind as well as masks which come from the world’s most disparate places and cultures. Since 2008, a collection of African and Asian puppets, belonging to the collector Francisco Capelo, is also now on display.
It has a theatre, temporary exhibition spaces and the Arts Laboratory, a place for learning and making. The museum’s Education Service promotes guided tours, puppet making workshops, birthday parties and Creative Mornings for parents and children (always held on the last Sunday of every month).
