Completed in 1746, this historic summer palace in Campo Grande, took the surname of one of its former owners, Manuel Joaquim Pimenta. In 1962, it was acquired by Lisbon City Council, which restored both the palace and the gardens, and it was there that the headquarters of the Museum of Lisbon were established in 1979. It holds a vast collection of diverse artistic expressions, which tell the story of the city from its earliest days.
