This cultural space is composed of many sites, besides its exhibition circuit: a Documentation Centre, a School (offering Portuguese Guitar classes and a singing department), a gift shop, an auditorium with a regular programme of events as well as a restaurant/café. It holds a rich documentary collection comprised of a collection of discographies, photographs, films, posters, newspapers, repertoires, sheet music, programmes, trophies, decorations, instruments and other miscellaneous objects. Visitors to the museum are invited to walk through a series of soundscapes, recreated using audio-visual equipment, to learn about the history of Fado.
